Delete your Ficaryn account and data

You can delete your entire Ficaryn account, or delete some of your cloud books while keeping the account. If you can still use the app, prefer the in-app deletion flow; if you cannot access the app, you can also contact us from your sign-up email.
Export a backup before deleting. Once your account or cloud books are deleted, this cannot be undone. Ficaryn will not use deleted data to recreate your account or books.
1. Delete your entire Ficaryn account
Option A: delete in the app
- Open Ficaryn.
- Go to Settings → Delete Account.
- If needed, export a backup of your work when prompted.
- After final confirmation, Ficaryn initiates the account deletion and clears the related data.
Option B: request deletion by email when you cannot use the app
Send an email from the address you used to register or sign in to Ficaryn:
support@ficaryn.com,
with the subject Ficaryn Account Deletion Request.
Include the email address of your Ficaryn account. To prevent someone else from impersonating you, we may ask you to complete identity verification.
What happens after your account is deleted
- Deleted: your Ficaryn account details, sign-in sessions and linked identity-verification records.
- Deleted: books synced to the Ficaryn cloud and their related data, including chapters, characters, places, lore, plans, foreshadowing, summaries and other creative material.
- Cleared: when deletion is performed through the in-app flow, Ficaryn’s local data on your current device is also cleared as the app indicates.
- Not deleted: backup files you exported yourself and keep outside Ficaryn.
- Not automatically cancelled: your Plus subscription. Charges are made by the App Store or Google Play; cancel the subscription in the store first.
2. Delete some data without deleting the account
Delete books in the app
You can delete books you no longer need directly in Ficaryn. If you are signed in with syncing enabled, the deletion syncs to the cloud; your Ficaryn account itself remains, and you can keep creating and syncing other books.
Request deletion of specific cloud data by email
If you cannot use the app, or need specific cloud data deleted, send an email from your Ficaryn sign-in address to
support@ficaryn.com,
with the subject Ficaryn Data Deletion Request.
Describe the data you want deleted, for example a book title or the scope of data. We may ask you to complete identity verification. Such a request does not automatically delete your Ficaryn account unless you explicitly ask for the account to be closed as well.
3. Deletion and retention periods
- Account and cloud books: once a deletion request completes, they are removed from Ficaryn’s active database, with no additional product-level retention period.
- Quota and anti-abuse counters: a small number of rate-limit and quota counters linked to internal account identifiers may briefly remain after deletion and expire automatically within 2 days at most; these counters do not contain your book text.
- Records we must keep by law: if applicable law, a security investigation or a dispute requires us to keep a small number of necessary records, we keep them only to the extent and for the period necessary, then delete or anonymize them.
